General Information

Parking

Please see the enclosed map to identify parking areas for buses and autos. There will be attendants to assist you at the gate. PLEASE follow the instructions of our volunteers when entering the parking lot
.

Registration

Each competing unit must register upon arrival. (see map) PLEASE NOTE: this year, each member of the competing unit will get wristbands prior to entering the competition area. Only competing members with right wristbands will be admitted to the performance area. Each group will receive a guide to help you find your way around.

First Aid:

First aid will be available throughout the competition at the Event Check In. Please make sure that you have your student’s emergency information in case of accident. There will be signs.

Refreshments:

The Granada Band Boosters will have a snack bar for the purchase of refreshments. Please encourage your students to patronize the snack bar as it helps offset the cost of running this event.

Changing Areas

Competing units may change in the boys and girls locker rooms. (see map) There are also rest rooms available in the changing areas.

Warm-up

Each unit will have a 10 minute warm-up period. Warm-up for Guard and Percussion units will be in the small gym. Ensembles will use an “A”/“B” format, so please be respectful of the other performing units during warm-ups. Weather permitting, you may warm-up in the parking areas or the blacktop areas that are not designated as “Silent” zones. Monitors will help you stay on time and guides will help you proceed to the ready area.

Floor Folding

Teams can use the large blacktop area behind the small gym to fold floors. In the event of rain, the small gym will be divided in half...half for warm up, half for floor folding.

Performance Venues

In a drastic effort to protect the floors from damage, please note that both gym floors will be covered by a protective floor covering. This covering is very much like the floors that Guards use in their performance, however these coverings DO NOT have gym floor striping. The center line will be marked.

Security

It is recommended that all groups provide their own security. For your protection please keep all valuables with you at all times, and have a booster or student monitor equipment. Please do not leave anything in the changing areas. Granada High School and the Livermore Valley Unified School District cannot be responsible for the safety of personal belongings during this event.
